Westwood
Westwood is an established Community of more than 14,000 people, located just 12 miles southwest of Boston. Situated at the junction of Routes 95/128 and 93, Westwood provides an excellent location for its residents and its businesses. Two commuter rail lines, along with full MBTA bus service an Routes 1, 1A and 109 make getting back and forth a quick ride.
Westwood is most recognized for the quality of its schools, which helps give this beautiful hamlet the reputation of being perfect for raising a family. More than 25,000 children currently live in Westwood, attending several schools in the Community. Westwood is home to five stellar public elementary schools, the Edmund W. Thurston public Middle School, and the recently construction and refurbished Westwood High School, initially established in 1957 but re-built with state of the art facilities at a whopping $45 million. The High School's facilities include an artificial turf field with a synthetic track and yes, it's open to the entire Community of Westwood so that all can enjoy. Westwood is also home to the prestigious prep school, Xaverian Brothers High School. Students from Westwood consistently score in the top percentiles on national tests, and the overwhelming majority of students graduating from the High School go on to higher education. The town also encourages and maintains many recreational areas and facilities, including numerous conservation areas, playgrounds, ball fields, and an indoor pool facility.

Westwood currently has 75 retail stores and over 130 commercial/industrial businesses located within the town proper. Westwood's town services are excellent, with water from the Dedham-Westwood Water District, sewer service from the Massachusetts Water Resource Authority, and natural gas from Algonquin Gas. In fact, Westwood is one of the most coveted areas of Massachusetts ranked 13th on CNN Money magazine's list of 100 Best Places to Live in the United States in July 2005. The median income for families living in Westwood was $103,242 in the 2000 census, with $87,394 coming is as the median income for a single household.
