Peabody Essex Museum

Relive New England’s historic past and explore the region’s connections to the art and culture of Asia, Oceania, and more at one of New England’s largest museums. Located in the coastal city of Salem, Massachusetts, PEM offers unrivaled collections, special exhibitions, a hands-on education center, an award-winning shop, and a café and restaurant. The museum campus also features numerous parks, period gardens, and daily tours of historic houses, including Yin Yu Tang, an 18th-century Chinese merchant’s house transported from China and reassembled at the Peabody Essex Museum.

Take the T:
Take the Commuter Rail (Newburyport/Rockport line). The museum is a five-minute walk from the Salem station. Follow signs for downtown.
Directions:
From Boston, Route 1 or I-93 to 128 N, exit 25A. Follow Route 114 into Salem. In Salem, follow signs for the museum and downtown parking.
