The Mapparium at the Mary Baker Eddy Library

ne of Boston’s most stunning architectural settings, The Mary Baker Eddy Library, opened in 2002, features interactive exhibits that explore how powerful ideas can change the world.

Step across a glass bridge spanning the world-famous Mapparium, a three-story stained-glass globe that gives visitors a dazzling view from the center of the earth. Opened in 1935, the Mapparium was then and remains today the only architectural structure of its kind. It is a must-see attraction for all Boston visitors.

The Library’s other exhibits and galleries highlight the remarkable life, ideas, and achievements of Mary Baker Eddy, a 19th-century Bostonian who overcame tremendous adversity to become a successful and influential religious leader, author, publisher, and businesswoman. The Library has a café and a gift shop to complete your visit.
